It’s that time of the year again. Luminous trees light up the streets of Tokyo, and gingerbread lattes sell out at Starbucks. Strolling down Omotesando, I realize that such commercial indulgences are only so special because of the memories we attach to them. While the Christmas season may indeed be a time of material fulfillment, the opportunity it gives us to spread love and gratitude to others is what really makes it magical.
As a small gesture of appreciation to our amazing tutors and in celebration of our first anniversary, Kokusaba hosted a Christmas Dinner gathering at Good Morning Cafe Waseda. It was lovely to see over twenty of our tutors and friends mingling, getting to know one another, and feasting on pizza!
The December chill in the packed cafe terrace was overcome by warm smiles and laughter. Two lucky winners from our parcel game and prize wheel lottery even went home with Kokusaba-themed Google Home devices. Congratulations to Alex and Kanata!
As time flew by at the cafe, I could not help but wonder what kind of growth and excitement the next year would bring. Kokusaba is the long-awaited answer for international school students in Japan looking for personal, flexible, and meaningful tutoring. We cannot wait to continue to expand further and help even more students excel academically and grow in confidence.
On behalf of Kokusaba's management, I would like to thank all of our incredible tutors for helping Kokusaba get to where it is today. I would also like to thank all of our students and their families for inviting our tutors into your homes, learning with them, and believing in Kokusaba's mission. We are truly blessed.
Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year!
With love,
